OUIGO Tickets from €9 Go on Sale This Wednesday: What You Need to Know About the Limited-Time Offer

SNCF’s low-cost subsidiary Ouigo is bringing back a June promotion with 50,000 train tickets sold for 9 euros each for travel between June 1 and June 30, 2026. The offer is aimed at travelers looking for affordable short breaks or early-summer trips before the start of the main holiday season. However, the deal is less generous than last year’s version, when tickets were offered at 5 euros, according to BFMTV.

The sale is limited to Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, 2026, and tickets are available only while stocks last. Ouigo warned that demand is expected to be high and that there will not be enough tickets for everyone. Customers interested in the promotion are urged to book quickly to have a chance of securing the cheapest fares.

The discount applies only to Ouigo Trains Classiques, the company’s budget service using older rail lines rather than France’s high-speed network. These trains serve 19 destinations, including Angoulême, Bordeaux, Brussels, the Futuroscope area, and several Paris stations. Because the service runs on historic lines, journeys can take significantly longer than on TGV routes, but the lower price makes it attractive for travelers prioritizing cost over speed.

SNCF describes the service as a way to travel more cheaply, especially for people who are not in a hurry. For example, a trip from Paris to Bordeaux takes more than five hours on a Ouigo Trains Classiques service, compared with roughly two to three hours on a high-speed train. The company says the format is designed for passengers who want to avoid high fares and are willing to accept longer travel times in exchange for savings.

The classic Ouigo model appears to have gained strong traction since its launch in 2022. According to figures released by Ouigo and cited by BFMTV in mid-2025, 4.5 million passengers had used the service by that point. That suggests continued demand for affordable rail options in France, particularly for leisure travel and flexible travelers willing to plan around slower but cheaper connections.

With summer approaching, the promotion may appeal to holidaymakers, students, families, and weekend travelers looking for budget-friendly trips across France and beyond. But because the number of discounted seats is limited and the sale window is short, anyone hoping to take advantage of the offer will need to act quickly.
