Office Romance Movie: Release Date, How to Watch, Cast, and More

Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are teaming up for a new romantic comedy titled Office Romance, a Netflix film centered on a secret workplace fling between two workaholic coworkers. Lopez plays Jackie Cruz, a confident employee caught in a hidden office relationship with Daniel Blanchflower, portrayed by Goldstein. The movie was written by Goldstein and Joe Kelly, who said they developed the project with Lopez in mind after deciding they wanted to make an old-school rom-com. Goldstein explained that they were looking for “the best J.Lo rom-com,” making Lopez the clear inspiration for the lead role.
Lopez said she was surprised and flattered to learn the film had been written specifically for her. She noted that while actors are often considered for roles after scripts are written, being part of the creative vision from the beginning felt very different. The project brings together Lopez’s long-running romantic comedy appeal with Goldstein’s writing and on-screen charm, creating a high-profile pairing for Netflix’s upcoming release.
The supporting cast includes Betty Gilpin as Sydney, Amy Sedaris as Julie Schatz, Tony Hale as George Zein, Bradley Whitford as Peter Vance, Edward James Olmos as Captain Jack Cruz, Rick Hoffman as Carl Gunderson, and Jodie Whittaker as Lizzy, along with additional cast members. The film appears to blend workplace comedy, romance, and star-driven ensemble performances, following the familiar setup of an office relationship complicated by secrecy and professional boundaries.
Office Romance is set to stream exclusively on Netflix on June 5, 2026. The film adds another romantic comedy to Lopez’s filmography and marks a notable collaboration between the singer-actor and Goldstein, who has become widely known for his work on Ted Lasso. The movie is positioned as a modern workplace romance with a classic rom-com tone, built around the chemistry of its two leads and the idea of a love story unfolding inside a professional environment.
