Margaret F. Kenny, née Phillips, a longtime resident of Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois, died on May 29, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late John “Tom” Kenny and the loving mother of Timothy Kenny and Kevin Kenny, with his wife Jamee. She was also a proud grandmother to Hunter, Oliver, and River Kenny.
Kenny was the dear sister of Luanne Peterson and the sister-in-law of Mary Reed and Patrick Kenny, with his wife Lisa. She was remembered as a loving aunt to many family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucille Phillips; her sister, Mary Ellen Phillips; and her brothers-in-law, Doug Peterson, James Kenny, Fred Reed, and Michael Kenny.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peterson-Bassi Chapels, 6938 W. North Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60707. Family and friends will gather on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Giles Church, 1045 Columbian Ave., Oak Park, Illinois, for a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Private entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
