Large Bike Swap Runs Through May 31, 2026 in Metz-Bliiida

The annual bike sale organized by the Metz à Vélo association has returned to the Bliiida creative and community space in Metz and will run until Sunday, May 31, 2026. The event is open to the public free of charge and is aimed at anyone looking for a bicycle, a bargain, or simply a pleasant outing. Organizers say it is a local gathering that combines affordable shopping with the idea of giving used bikes a second life.
People wishing to sell a bicycle can still drop off bikes through Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. For non-members of the Metz à Vélo association, the deposit fee is €5 per bicycle. The number and variety of bikes available for sale will depend on how many are dropped off during the week.
The sale begins on Friday and continues through the weekend. On Friday, visitors can browse and buy from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A range of bicycles is expected to be offered at reduced prices, including city bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes, and children’s bikes. Organizers say the selection will vary based on deposits, but the event is designed to give buyers access to a broad mix of models.
The bike sale is part of Metz à Vélo’s broader effort to encourage cycling, reuse, and more sustainable consumption. By reselling used bicycles, the association helps make cycling more affordable while also extending the life of equipment that might otherwise go unused. The event also provides an opportunity for people to find practical bikes for everyday travel, recreation, or family use without paying the cost of new equipment.
On Sunday, the event will be joined by Briiic & Broc, a second-hand themed day that adds to the market atmosphere and highlights the appeal of reused goods. That makes the final day not only a chance to shop for bikes, but also to explore other items linked to the second-hand economy.
Held at Bliiida, the event brings together local residents, cycling enthusiasts, and bargain hunters in a space known for community-oriented and cultural activities. Its return reflects continued interest in affordable mobility and reuse-based events in Metz. For visitors, the sale offers the chance to find a bicycle at a lower price while supporting a local association focused on active transport and sustainable habits.
