South OTT Releases: From Dhanush’s ‘Kaari’ to ‘Brother and Sister’, These South Indian Films and Series Are Releasing on OTT This Week

Several South Indian films and series are set to arrive on OTT platforms this week, giving Tamil and Telugu audiences a fresh lineup across thriller, comedy, family drama, and action-oriented storytelling. The releases include a mix of well-known stars and newer regional titles, with some projects available in multiple languages for wider reach.

One of the most notable titles is Kara, a Tamil thriller featuring Dhanush in a central role. The story follows Karasamy, whose family land is taken away by a ruthless bank manager and a corrupt DSP. Forced back into a criminal path, he becomes involved in a revenge-driven conflict shaped by injustice and personal loss. Kara will stream on Netflix from May 28, and will be available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Another Telugu release drawing attention is Jetlee, directed by Ritesh Rana. Starring Satya in the lead role, along with Riya Suman in an important part, the film is a comedy thriller centered on a flight attendant who gets trapped in a chaotic situation during an air journey. The movie received a positive response after its release and is now available to stream on JioHotstar from May 25.

The week also brings Faces, a film directed by Nilesh A. The cast includes Kalesh Ramandan, Henah Reji, Arjun Gopal, Sarayu Mohan, Bitto Davis, and T. Suresh Babu. This title will stream on Sun TV from May 29 and has been dubbed in Tamil and Telugu, broadening its audience across both language markets.

For viewers interested in family-based drama, Brother and Sister is a Tamil-language series that explores the dynamics of a strict family patriarch and the strain that grows within the household after a significant incident. The event creates tension among family members and threatens to break the family apart. The series will be available on JioHotstar from May 27.

Another Tamil film arriving this week is Leader, featuring Saravanan, Sham, Payal Rajput, Andrea Jeremiah, Santhosh Prathap, Amritha Aiyer, and VTV Ganesh. The film runs for 2 hours and 16 minutes and will stream on Prime Video from May 29. With a strong ensemble cast, it adds another major regional title to the OTT lineup.

Together, these releases highlight the continued demand for South Indian content on digital platforms. From intense thrillers and crime-driven drama to light comedy and family conflict, this week’s OTT slate offers a wide mix of genres for Tamil and Telugu movie fans. The availability of dubbed versions and multi-platform releases also reflects the growing popularity of regional cinema among audiences across India.
