Keke Palmer Supports True Jackson, VP Revival and Shares Her Idea for Where the Character Is Now

Keke Palmer is open to returning to one of her early breakout roles, saying she would welcome a revival of Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP, even after more than 15 years. The Emmy-winning actor, who starred as the title character from 2008 to 2011, said she still feels connected to her childhood work and would not mind revisiting it if there were a meaningful story to tell.

True Jackson, VP followed a teenage fashion prodigy who became the vice president of youth apparel at the fictional company Mad Style. The series ended with True moving into a bigger leadership role, becoming president of Mad Style after her boss retired. Palmer said that gives the show plenty of room to explore where True and the rest of the characters are now.

In her view, a revival could find True still running Mad Style and balancing the pressure of her career with the personal life she put on hold while chasing success. Palmer suggested that her character might have spent years focusing on work and building a legacy, only to realize she needs to reconnect with parts of herself she neglected along the way. That could include friendships, love, and the personal growth that often gets delayed when someone is driven by ambition.

Palmer’s comments reflect a growing trend in television, where old favorites are being rebooted or revived for new audiences while also giving longtime fans a chance to reconnect with familiar characters. Nickelodeon has already revisited properties such as iCarly, and Palmer made it clear she would be happy to see True Jackson, VP join that list.

Even as her career has expanded far beyond her Nickelodeon days, Palmer said she has no shame about looking back at the roles that helped make her a star. She has remained busy in recent years, with appearances in projects such as Peacock’s The ‘Burbs and the crime comedy I Love Boosters. Still, she appears especially fond of True Jackson, a role that remains one of her most recognizable.

Palmer has been in the entertainment industry since childhood and is also remembered for projects like Disney Channel’s Jump In! and the film Akeelah and the Bee. Her willingness to revisit her past is notable because many former child stars prefer to leave those chapters behind. Palmer, however, seems proud of the work that introduced her to audiences and understands why fans continue to connect with it.

Whether a True Jackson, VP revival will ever happen remains uncertain, but Palmer’s enthusiasm gives fans reason to hope. For now, the original series remains available to stream on Paramount+, where viewers can revisit True’s journey from teenager to fashion executive and imagine what comes next.
