Emily in Paris Star Heartbroken Over Pierre Deny’s Death

“Emily in Paris” actor Paul Forman paid tribute to French performer Pierre Deny following Deny’s sudden death at age 69. Forman shared his message on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, saying he was heartbroken by the news and describing it as a privilege to work alongside Deny and witness his warmth and talent up close. He ended the post by sending condolences to Deny’s family and loved ones and included a black-and-white photo of the actor.

Deny appeared in seasons 3 and 4 of the Netflix series as Louis de Léon, the CEO of the fictional fashion company JVMA. Forman plays Nicolas de Léon, Louis’ son, on the show. Forman is the first of Deny’s co-stars to publicly react to his death.

Deny died on Monday after a sudden and severe battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, according to a statement from his daughters. His death has prompted tributes from colleagues and renewed attention to the disease. Earlier this week, “Demain nous appartient” co-star Luce Mouchel also shared a heartfelt message remembering Deny, reflecting on their years of working together and sending thoughts to his daughters.

The news comes as the cast of “Emily in Paris” continues production on its sixth season. Lily Collins recently said filming had resumed for what is expected to be the show’s final season, noting that the story will take the characters to Greece and back to France for one last adventure.

ALS has also been in the public spotlight in recent weeks following other celebrity diagnoses and deaths linked to the illness. “90 Day Fiancé” personality Jenny Slatten recently revealed she has ALS, while other public figures have previously spoken openly about the disease and its impact. Deny’s passing adds to the growing awareness of the devastating condition and the toll it takes on patients and their families.

Forman’s tribute highlighted the personal loss felt by those who worked with Deny, while fans and co-stars continue to remember the actor for his presence on screen and his life beyond it.
