Jennifer Lopez’s Child Emme Debuts New Name at High School Graduation Ceremony

Jennifer Lopez’s child Emme appears to be using a new name as they prepare to start college this fall. A March post from an Instagram account that tracks Windward School seniors’ college decisions identified the 18-year-old as “Oskar Muñiz” and said Oskar will attend Sarah Lawrence College to study theater and studio arts. The post included a childhood photo, the college’s logo and references suggesting the graduate’s future plans in New York. It also tagged an Instagram account that appears to belong to Lopez and Marc Anthony’s child, while the profile featured the name Oskar and symbols commonly associated with gender and identity.

The apparent name change has not been publicly addressed by Lopez, who also has not commented on the post. A representative for the singer did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The post drew additional attention after it was liked by Jennifer Garner, who was formerly married to Lopez’s ex-husband Ben Affleck and shares three children with him.

Lopez recently attended Emme’s high school graduation with her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, and Affleck’s son Samuel. Marc Anthony, Emme’s father, was not seen at the ceremony. The family milestone comes as Lopez has spoken emotionally about her twins Emme and Max graduating from high school. During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, she said she had been crying for months as the twins prepared to leave home, joking that she should not talk about it because it would make her cry again.

The singer also said her twins will attend different colleges, adding that she is supportive of their choices as long as they are happy and pursue what they want to do. Lopez and Anthony were married from 2004 to 2014 and share twins Max and Emme. The recent graduation and college announcements mark a major transition for the family, with Emme’s next chapter now drawing public attention because of the new name used in the school-related post.
