Activision has released the official trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 just hours after unveiling its first teaser, confirming the next main entry in the long-running first-person shooter series. The game is scheduled to launch on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The trailer appears to confirm earlier speculation that the new installment will be set around the Koreas, bringing an old conflict into a modern context. The return of the iconic character Ghost is also featured, signaling a continuation of familiar elements from the Modern Warfare universe while introducing a darker and more intense tone.
According to the video description, Modern Warfare 4 will take players through a more dangerous and gritty campaign. The game is said to include trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters combat in New York, and additional locations such as Paris and Mumbai. This suggests a global conflict with a mix of large-scale battles and intimate urban encounters.
Alongside the trailer, Activision announced that an extended look at the game will be shown on June 7. The timing aligns with the Xbox Games Showcase, where the publisher is widely expected to present gameplay footage and provide more details about the title.
Modern Warfare 4 is being positioned as an important release for Activision, especially after the disappointing reception of Black Ops 7, which fell short of expectations among both critics and players. The company appears to be banking on the return of the Modern Warfare brand to rebuild momentum and win back audience confidence.
The new trailer has already generated strong interest due to its setting, returning characters, and promise of a more intense military campaign. With multiple platforms confirmed and a major gameplay reveal on the horizon, Modern Warfare 4 is now one of the most closely watched upcoming games in the franchise.
