Ellie Goulding is preparing a new chapter in her career with the announcement of her sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, set for release on September 4 via Polydor. The album arrives with a new single, “Black Prada Dress,” which is scheduled to be released this Friday, June 5. A full tracklist has not yet been announced.
Goulding first previewed the song during her main stage performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland on May 23. She is also set to perform it on Later… with Jools Holland, which airs on June 7 on BBC Two.
I Know Too Much will be Goulding’s first full-length album since 2023’s Higher Than Heaven, which debuted at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart. That achievement tied her with Adele for the most U.K. No. 1 albums by a British female solo artist, according to the Official Charts Company.
In the United States, Goulding has remained a steady presence on the Billboard Hot 100 throughout her career. Her biggest American hits include “Love Me Like You Do,” which reached No. 3, and “Lights,” which peaked at No. 2 in 2011. She has also recorded collaborations with artists including Swae Lee, Juice WRLD, Diplo and Calvin Harris.
The album announcement comes as Goulding experiences renewed attention online. Her breakout song “Starry Eyed” recently reached No. 1 on TikTok’s Trending Audio chart after resurfacing in nostalgic fan edits and travel videos, which helped drive fresh streaming interest in her catalog.
Her last album, Higher Than Heaven, also produced one of her biggest recent hits, “Miracle,” a collaboration with Calvin Harris. The track marked the pair’s third collaboration and gave Goulding her fourth U.K. No. 1 single. It also earned a Grammy nomination for best dance pop recording and was included on Billboard’s list of the 30 Best Dance Songs of 2023.
With a new album, a fresh single and rising social media momentum, Goulding is entering a new release cycle that builds on her long record of chart success in both the U.K. and the U.S.
