Cruzeiro Pursues Signing of Former Vasco Star Gabriel Pec

Cruzeiro is negotiating the signing of forward Gabriel Pec, a 25-year-old Brazilian attacker currently playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy in the United States. The Minas Gerais club faces strong competition for the player’s signature, with Bahia also reportedly interested in securing the transfer. The talks were reported by Central da Toca and Samuca TV.

Pec joined Los Angeles Galaxy in January 2024 after leaving Vasco, where he developed in the club’s youth system and later became a first-team player. Since arriving in Major League Soccer, he has posted strong numbers and emerged as one of the standout Brazilian players in the competition.

During his time at Vasco, Pec spent five seasons as a professional and played 170 matches. In that period, he scored 26 goals and delivered 14 assists, establishing himself as an important attacking option for the Rio de Janeiro side.

His production in the United States has been even more impressive. In the 2026 season, Pec has already played 20 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists. His best year so far came in 2024, when he made 41 appearances for Los Angeles Galaxy, registering 21 goals and 19 assists. That level of performance has increased his visibility in the market and appears to have triggered interest from clubs in Brazil.

Cruzeiro’s pursuit comes as the club looks to strengthen its attack with a player who combines speed, scoring ability and creativity. Pec’s versatility in the final third and his recent form in MLS make him an appealing target, but the competition from Bahia could complicate negotiations.

The move remains under discussion, and no final agreement has been announced. Still, the interest from Cruzeiro highlights the club’s intent to bring in a proven forward with international experience and a track record of productivity. Gabriel Pec’s next destination will depend on the outcome of the talks between the involved clubs and the player’s camp.
