Dorit Kemsley Shares Update on Friendship With Erika Jayne, Reveals They’ve Been Texting
Dorit Kemsley says she and Erika Jayne are working toward repairing their friendship after a rocky period on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In a new interview promoting her memoir Unburdened, Dorit said she reached out to Erika after seeing headlines about Erika’s upcoming legal issues and received an immediate, warm response. Dorit said the exchange reminded her that there is still “a lot of love” and “a lot of history” between them, and that they plan to see each other soon.
The friendship between the two Bravo stars became strained during the most recent season of RHOBH, particularly during a tense cast trip to Italy. Dorit said the conflict felt sudden and hurtful because she had spoken with Erika the night before and believed everything was fine. Looking back, Dorit said the season was emotionally difficult for her, especially as she was dealing with problems in her marriage to PK Kemsley, the stress of filming in real time, and unexpected tension with co-star Kyle Richards.
Dorit said she had hoped her relationship with Erika would remain stable, since the two had not previously had serious conflict. She suggested that the Italy confrontation felt like an ambush, even if Erika’s intent may have been to push her and Kyle Richards to reconcile. Dorit added that the episode left her feeling blindsided.
On another recent podcast appearance, Dorit repeated that she and Erika have exchanged text messages and are likely to meet up. She also discussed what it would take to repair her friendship with Kyle Richards. According to Dorit, the first step would simply be Kyle’s willingness to talk and make things better. Dorit said she is always open to mending fences and does not like being on opposite sides of a friendship.
Dorit emphasized that even if a friendship changes shape after conflict, she would rather resolve issues than remain estranged. She described her bond with Kyle as a long-standing one built over nearly a decade, with shared experiences that only people who have worked on the same reality show can truly understand. Dorit said those common experiences make the relationship meaningful and worth saving.
Her comments come as questions continue to swirl around her future on RHOBH. A recent executive producer addressed rumors that Dorit may be on pause from the show, adding another layer of speculation around the cast dynamics as the season continues to generate attention.
