Diddy Demands Music Producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Turn Over Medical Records in Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking access to Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’s medical records as part of their ongoing civil lawsuit, according to a report citing court-related developments. Jones, a music producer, sued Combs in February 2024 for $30 million, accusing him of sexual harassment, sexual assault, drugging, threats, and coercion. In his complaint, Jones alleged that Combs pressured him to arrange encounters with sex workers, pushed him into unwanted sexual acts, and subjected him to repeated misconduct. Combs has denied the allegations, calling the case a publicity-driven attempt to secure money.
The legal dispute remains active two years later, and the latest conflict centers on discovery requests. TMZ reported on Thursday that Combs had been asking Jones to turn over medical records for months, but Jones did not provide them. Jones was allegedly expected to sign a release in November, but he reportedly objected, arguing that the release did not comply with privacy rules governing medical information. Combs is now challenging Jones’s refusal and arguing that some of the discovery demands being made against him are improper and overly broad.
Combs also objected to questions tied to Cuba Gooding Jr., who Jones has accused of involvement in one of the alleged incidents. In the lawsuit, Jones claimed that during a yacht trip in the U.S. Virgin Islands in January 2023, Gooding allegedly touched and groped him after he rejected advances. Combs contends that requests seeking information about Gooding’s alleged behavior or statements from third parties are not appropriate in the case.
Jones has not publicly responded to the newest claims from Combs. The lawsuit continues to move through the court process while both sides dispute the scope of evidence and what information should be exchanged. Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but he continues to fight civil claims against him in other legal proceedings. Jones’s case remains one of the most closely watched lawsuits involving the music mogul, with accusations spanning harassment, assault, coercion, and other alleged misconduct.
The dispute now highlights a familiar issue in high-profile litigation: how far each side can go in demanding private records and testimony from the other. For Jones, the fight over medical files appears to be tied to privacy and compliance concerns. For Combs, the pushback reflects his argument that the requests exceed what should be allowed in discovery. With no resolution announced yet, the case is expected to continue drawing attention as both parties continue to press their positions in court.
