Bachelorette Star Blake Moynes Says He Has “No Money Left”

Blake Moynes has spoken candidly about the personal and financial sacrifices he says he has made while building a career in wildlife conservation. In an appearance on the June 5 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, the former Bachelorette contestant said he sold his house, liquidated investments, and poured everything into conservation work, leaving him with little financial flexibility and constant travel demands. He said the commitment has forced him to keep pushing forward, adding that there is “no way out other than through it.”
Moynes, 35, said relocating from Canada to focus on wildlife missions has also changed his personal relationships. He described becoming increasingly disconnected from close friends and said he often learns major life updates, such as friends having children, only through mutual contacts. According to Moynes, his demanding schedule and limited time for texting or casual conversation have made it difficult to maintain the same level of contact he once had. He said his work leaves him with “no time for anything” outside his conservation efforts.
The reality TV alum founded Save Our Species Alliance, or SOSA, in 2023. The organization supports wildlife missions and immersive conservation experiences in regions including Africa, Costa Rica and Alaska. Moynes said the mission is not driven by profit but by a desire to help protect endangered animals. He emphasized that the work is centered on long-term environmental impact rather than financial gain.
Moynes said the financial strain has been severe, claiming that the organization has operated in the red for three years and that he has not taken a salary during that time. He said two employees are on payroll, but the broader model depends on supporting nonprofit conservation projects while also trying to sustain the organization itself. He described the effort as especially difficult because the public is being asked to care about animals and conservation, rather than a traditional product or service.
The comments offer a rare look at how Moynes’s post-Bachelorette life has shifted away from reality television and toward wildlife protection. While his work appears to be personally meaningful, he said it has required major sacrifices in money, time and relationships. His remarks suggest that the path he chose has come with significant emotional and professional costs, even as he continues to invest in a cause he believes in.
