Atlus Shares Updated Persona Sales Figures and All the Latest Details on Persona 6

Atlus has confirmed new details about Persona 6, the next main entry in its long-running role-playing series, following the recent attention surrounding Persona 3 Reload. The game is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with no release date announced yet and no Nintendo Switch 2 version currently planned. That means it will not launch on Nintendo’s new console, just like Persona 4 Revival, which has also been left out of the platform.
According to the information shared, Persona 6 will feature an entirely new story set within the Persona universe, with a fresh cast of characters and a structure that keeps the franchise’s familiar blend of everyday life and supernatural adventure. Players can expect the series’ classic setup: school life, friendships, romance, and routine activities during the day, alongside investigations into strange rumors, urban legends, and paranormal events at night.
The game will also continue to use the signature “Persona” system, in which characters awaken a manifestation of their inner self and gain strength through relationships with others. Social bonds remain a core part of the experience, with friendships and connections directly affecting gameplay progression and the player’s overall power. This combination of character-driven storytelling and tactical combat has defined the series for years and remains central to the new installment.
Persona 6 is also being presented as an accessible entry point for newcomers. Although the franchise has more than 30 years of history and over 30 million copies sold worldwide, each numbered Persona game tells a standalone story, so players do not need prior experience with earlier entries to enjoy it. At the same time, the new release is expected to offer enough depth, style, and systems to satisfy longtime fans of the saga.
The overall concept stays true to what has made Persona one of Atlus’ most successful brands: a modern Japan setting, strong character relationships, supernatural mystery, and strategic battles built around personality-driven power systems. With a completely new narrative, new protagonists, and the series’ familiar dual-life structure, Persona 6 aims to continue the identity of the franchise while opening the door to a new chapter.
Atlus has not yet revealed a launch window, so fans will need to wait for more official details about the game’s development, story, and release plans. Still, the confirmation of its platforms and core concept keeps Persona 6 among the most anticipated role-playing games currently in development.
