Amazon’s No. 1 Hockey Romance Officially Casts New Couple for Season 2

The streaming series Off Campus, based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling hockey romance books, has become Amazon’s latest breakout hit. Premiering in mid-May, the show quickly climbed to the top spot on the platform and became the streamer’s third most-watched debut series of all time. Set at the fictional Briar University, the drama blends college life, romance, friendship, and personal growth as elite hockey players and the people around them navigate love, heartbreak, and the transition into adulthood.

Season 1 centered on Hannah Wells, a music major at Briar University, and Garrett Graham, captain of the Briar University hockey team. Their relationship begins as a fake-dating arrangement, but it soon develops into something real as the pair confront emotional complications and growing feelings for each other. The season introduced viewers to the balance between sports, school, and relationships, while also exploring the characters’ search for identity and stability during a turbulent stage of life.

According to series creator and showrunner Louisa Levy, the next season will shift its focus to Allie Hayes and Dean, played by Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn. Levy confirmed in an interview that the eight episodes of Season 2 have already been fully written. She also teased that the upcoming chapter has been carefully planned and suggested that fans of the books will be especially excited by what is coming next.

Allie Hayes, first introduced as Hannah’s roommate and close friend, is expected to take a larger role in the story moving forward. Dean, meanwhile, is a friend and teammate of Garrett’s and serves as a defenseman for the Briar Hawks. In Kennedy’s books, their romance appears in The Score, where Allie and Dean share a brief hookup following Allie’s unexpected breakup. The television adaptation is expected to draw from that storyline while continuing to expand the world of Briar University and its hockey team.

Although the second season has been officially mapped out, there is still no confirmed release timeline. For now, the series remains one of Amazon’s most successful new titles, benefiting from the strong fan base built by the original novels and the popularity of romance-driven college dramas. With its combination of sports, emotional stakes, and ensemble storytelling, Off Campus appears positioned to remain a major draw for viewers as the next season takes shape.

The show’s success also reflects the continued appeal of book-to-screen adaptations, especially those with built-in audiences and popular romantic pairings. As fans await more details, the announcement of Allie and Dean’s season provides a clear direction for the series’ future and signals that the Briar University story is only beginning.
