When Will Heated Rivalry Season 2 Be Released? Latest Updates

Heated Rivalry season 1 ended with Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov finally confessing their love and committing to a relationship, setting up the next chapter of Rachel Reid’s story in The Long Game. Season 2 is officially moving forward and is currently targeting an April 2027 premiere. Creator Jacob Tierney said writing is underway and production is expected to begin in August 2026, with filming planned for the summer before the spring release window. He has said the team wants to avoid a long gap between seasons, but also does not want to rush the second installment.
Tierney previously noted in December 2025 that the new season would not arrive at the same time as the first one did the year before. At that point, he said no scripts had yet been written, though he emphasized that the creative team was already getting back to work. In January 2026, he again said writing had not started, while cast member Connor Storrie suggested filming could begin in the summer of 2026. More recently, Tierney said the next season will move into “much more serious territory,” with the relationship between Shane and Ilya becoming more mature and less centered on the early, high-intensity phase of their romance.
Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie are confirmed to return as the series leads, and both actors have reportedly signed on for three seasons of the Crave drama. Christina Chang and Dylan Walsh are also expected back, with Chang saying she is excited to continue exploring her character’s support for Shane and Ilya. François Arnaud and Robbie G.K., who play Scott Hunter and Kip Grady, are also reprising their roles in season 2. Although Scott and Kip are central to the Game Changers book series, the show’s focus is still expected to remain primarily on Shane and Ilya as their relationship deepens in the upcoming season.
