Kullu Superintendent of Police Madan Lal Kaushal confirmed that the case began with a parking dispute in Kasol and said that police had registered a case under the relevant legal provisions. He said the weapon and vehicle used in the incident had been seized and that a full investigation was underway. He also said that attempts to disturb law and order in Himachal Pradesh, often referred to as Dev Bhoomi, would be dealt with strictly.
Investigators are now reviewing video evidence, questioning eyewitnesses and reconstructing the sequence of events that led to the firing.
