Erode Farmers Urged to Complete PM-KISAN e-KYC Registration

A special campaign will be carried out across Erode district until June 15 to help farmers complete the mandatory formalities needed under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme and ensure they continue receiving financial assistance without interruption.

According to a release from R. Sivakumar, Joint Director of Agriculture, eligible farmers under the scheme receive ₹6,000 a year in three instalments of ₹2,000 each. So far, 72,161 farmers in the district have benefited from the scheme.

The release said some beneficiaries were unable to receive payments because of pending requirements such as non-updation of land records, Aadhaar not being linked to bank accounts, and incomplete e-KYC verification. To resolve these issues, special camps will be organised at the block level across the district during the campaign period.

Department data showed that 373 farmers are yet to complete e-KYC verification, 4,251 have not linked Aadhaar with their bank accounts, 1,262 have neither completed e-KYC nor linked Aadhaar with their bank accounts, and 9,816 beneficiaries have not obtained farmer identity numbers.

Farmers have been advised to complete e-KYC and farmer identity registration through nearby Common Service Centres or with the help of Agriculture and Horticulture Department officials. Those who have not linked Aadhaar with their bank accounts have also been urged to do so at the earliest to avoid disruption in benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme.

The district administration said the campaign is aimed at ensuring that all eligible farmers continue to receive the scheme’s financial support smoothly.
