Best Physical Media Releases of April 2026

April’s physical media releases highlight the continued appeal of owning movies and music in tangible formats as more consumers grow frustrated with streaming price increases and shrinking libraries. Vinyl, CDs, and 4K discs remain popular with collectors who value permanence, packaging, and restoration quality, and this month’s standout releases reflect that trend across music and film.
Among the most notable music items is Dijon’s How Do You Feel About Getting Married? EP, which is finally getting a vinyl release for Record Store Day. Pressed on brick-colored vinyl and limited to 4,900 copies, it gives fans a chance to revisit one of the artist’s early works before his rise to wider recognition. Also arriving for Record Store Day is Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, a two-LP set on translucent sea blue vinyl featuring artists such as Lykke Li, St. Vincent, MGMT, Gardens & Villa, and Washed Out. The compilation offers a fresh take on Fleetwood Mac classics and is limited to 3,700 copies.
On the film side, Warner Bros. Discovery is releasing Barry Levinson’s Sleepers in 4K Ultra HD for its 30th anniversary. The new edition includes a restored presentation and bonus features with Levinson, giving the film renewed attention decades after its release. Criterion is also spotlighting John Singleton’s Hood Trilogy, collecting Boyz N the Hood, Poetic Justice, and Baby Boy in a restored 4K set with new artwork and substantial extras, including a conversation between Ryan Coogler and Regina King, plus a documentary on Singleton’s career.
Rhino continues its Duran Duran reissue campaign with deluxe 2LP vinyl editions of the band’s 1993 self-titled album and 1995’s Thank You, both newly remastered and returning to vinyl for the first time since their original release. Disney’s 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital release of Sam Raimi’s Send Help brings one of the year’s biggest box office horror-comedies home, complete with more than two hours of special features, interviews, bloopers, and commentary.
Rock fans also have several options. Chrysalis is marking the 50th anniversary of Robin Trower’s Live! with a 2LP edition that adds five previously unreleased songs. Wire’s Read & Burn 03+ appears on vinyl for the first time through Record Store Day, limited to 1,000 copies and featuring an alternate intro to “23 Years Too Late.” Shout! Factory is releasing The Deer Hunter in a limited-edition 4K Ultra HD Steelbook, complete with interviews, commentary, deleted scenes, and trailers.
Rounding things out, Rhino’s reissue of Uncle Tupelo’s Anodyne gives alternative-country fans a remastered version of a landmark album, pressed from the original master tapes on 180-gram vinyl and limited to 5,000 copies.
