BLACKPINK’s Jennie Puts a Risqué Spin on Classic Chanel Style

Jennie brought a modern Chanel look to the brand’s second Métiers d’Art 2026 show in Seoul, South Korea, wearing a navy ensemble from Matthieu Blazy’s cruise 2027 collection. The Blackpink star’s outfit reworked familiar Chanel elements in a fresh way, featuring a plunging backless top with white nautical trim, a gold double C detail at the waist, and high-waisted navy pants accented with braided gold buttons. Although the look was shown on the runway as a suit, Jennie personalized it by removing the matching jacket and carrying it like an accessory.
Her styling added more of Blazy’s experimental Chanel spirit. Jennie held a fluffy, spotted version of the Chanel 25 handbag, a cargo-pocket design that first appeared during the house’s earlier Métiers d’Art presentation in New York City. She also wore a braided bracelet decorated with clear beads and small pearl charms, nodding to Chanel’s signature pearl aesthetic, along with black pointed-toe leather pumps and gold starburst earrings with crystal details.
The outfit reflected the broader direction Blazy has taken since becoming Chanel’s creative lead. He has been updating the house’s long-standing codes with a more playful and contemporary approach, while still keeping classic elements like pearls, buttons, and matching sets at the center of the brand’s identity. Jennie’s appearance highlighted that shift clearly, showing how Chanel’s traditional symbols can be reimagined through nautical references, unexpected silhouettes, and statement accessories.
Blazy’s collections have already explored a wide range of themes, including the solar system, metamorphosis, construction, New York street style, and a seaside mood inspired by Biarritz. His work has drawn strong attention for balancing creativity with broad appeal, and Jennie’s Seoul appearance continued that momentum by presenting Chanel as both recognizably classic and distinctly modern.
