Steven McBee Jr.’s relationship with Allie Eklund was a major storyline in the season 3 premiere of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, which was filmed months before their breakup. In the episode, Steven, 33, picked up Allie, 29, from the airport in Missouri just one day after his father, Steven “Steve” McBee Sr., was sentenced in a federal crop insurance fraud case. Steven said he first met Allie through Instagram and admitted that he repeatedly messaged her before she eventually responded. Allie confirmed that he had tried to get her attention for some time before she agreed to go out with him.
The premiere showed the early stages of their romance, including the couple’s first date, their emotional connection, and Allie’s first visit to Steven’s family farm. Allie said she and Steven had not kissed before her trip to Missouri and described their bond as emotionally strong. During the episode, she toured his house, which had been toilet papered by his brother, and later shared her first kiss with Steven outside the family property. Steven said he felt their chemistry immediately and suggested the relationship gave him something positive to focus on during a difficult period for his family.
Steven also connected the relationship to his father’s legal troubles, saying he had initially feared his dad’s sentencing would define his own future. Instead, he said he wanted to shift his attention toward building his personal life and family, and described Allie’s visit as the beginning of that process. The romance later turned into a public breakup. About six months after their first kiss was filmed, Steven and Allie split after he accused her of cheating during a trip to Stagecoach Music Festival in April.
