Stephen Sanchez Cancels Tour, Says He Nearly Quit Music After Album Experience

Stephen Sanchez has canceled his upcoming tour dates and shared a candid message about the emotional toll of his recent album campaign and touring schedule. In a statement posted while traveling, the 23-year-old “Until I Found You” singer said the cancellation of his New Zealand and Australia tour dates, which had been left unexplained, had likely frustrated fans who had already made travel plans. He also confirmed that a planned U.S. tour will not take place this year, apologizing to fans for the disappointment and confusion.

Sanchez explained that he spent much of 2025 working on his album LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, but said the process became weighed down by conflict, stress, anxiety, and what he described as deeply negative energy. According to the singer, those pressures made the project feel ruined for him and even led him to consider quitting music altogether. He said the experience affected him so strongly that he could no longer separate the album from the difficult circumstances surrounding its creation and release.

The artist added that he had hoped performing the material live might change how he felt, which is why he went ahead with his Europe and United Kingdom tour dates. However, he said that the tour did not improve his feelings about the album or the process behind it. Sanchez emphasized that fans were not to blame, thanking them for supporting him and wanting him in their cities, while making clear that the frustration he felt was tied to his own experience rather than the audience’s reaction.

He said that what ultimately helped him was stepping away from the road and returning home to spend time with family and friends outside the pressures of the green room and touring life. Sanchez said that being home allowed him to reconnect with a sense of purpose in making music, beyond the constant pressure to please everyone. His comments reflect a growing trend of artists speaking openly about the mental and emotional strain of album cycles, touring demands, and the expectations that come with public success.

Sanchez has not yet announced new dates for the canceled tours. His statement indicates that he is taking a break to reassess his relationship with music and with the creative process following a difficult year. The cancellation adds him to a growing list of musicians who have recently postponed or called off live performances, as touring continues to place significant demands on artists physically and emotionally.
