Yadu Appointed as Temporary Driver in Kerala Assembly After KSRTC Dispute and Chandy Oommen’s Letter

Yadu, who lost his temporary job with the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) after a public dispute with former Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran, has now been appointed as a temporary driver for the Kerala Legislative Assembly bus service. The appointment came after MLA Chandy Oommen wrote to the Speaker requesting that Yadu be given a job.
The controversy dates back to a roadside argument involving Arya Rajendran and Yadu. Following the incident, Rajendran filed a complaint against him, and a case was registered. After that, Yadu lost his temporary employment with KSRTC, leaving him without a job.
According to the report, the request for his reinstatement or fresh appointment was made after the UDF came to power. Chandy Oommen’s letter to the Speaker was considered, and the Assembly administration decided to provide Yadu with a temporary post.
In his new role, Yadu will serve as the driver of the bus that operates during Assembly sessions. The vehicle is used to transport MLAs between the MLA hostel and the Legislative Assembly. The appointment is temporary and is limited to Assembly-related duties.
The development has drawn attention because it follows a highly publicized dispute that had earlier led to the loss of Yadu’s KSRTC job. His new assignment effectively gives him a return to driving work, this time within the Assembly system.
The issue had attracted public and political discussion at the time of the original altercation, particularly because it involved a former city mayor and resulted in official action. Yadu’s appointment now marks a notable turn in the sequence of events, with a legislative posting replacing the job he lost after the case.
The Assembly bus driver role is meant to support the movement of legislators during sitting days, and Yadu will reportedly perform this duty as part of the temporary arrangement. The decision reflects the consideration of the formal request submitted by the MLA and the Assembly authorities’ approval of the appointment.
