Six Children in Three Years: This Large Family Lives in a Tiny Two-Room Apartment — and It Could Keep Growing

A family in Fürth, Germany, has welcomed twin girls on May 26, bringing the total number of children born to Jasmin and Andreas Rittner to six in just three years. The couple, who were already parents to two sets of twins, now have six young children under one roof and say their small two-room apartment is no longer large enough for their growing family.
Jasmin Rittner, 36, and Andreas Rittner, 42, first became parents to Emilio and Daniel, who are now two and a half years old. They later had another pair of twins, Simone and Anastacia, who are one and a half years old. With the recent birth of Julia and Estephania at the end of May, the family has now welcomed twins for the third time.
The couple told Bild that while their family is complete for the moment, they do not rule out having another child in the future. For now, however, Jasmin says she needs a longer break before considering another pregnancy.
Daily life has become increasingly challenging in their cramped apartment in Fürth, near Nuremberg. The four older children share one bedroom, while the parents sleep in the other room with the newborn twins. As the household has expanded, the family says it is struggling to manage everyday routines in such limited space.
The Rritners are now searching for a larger home, ideally one with several rooms, a garden and a bathtub for the children. They also say that transportation has become more complicated and that they would like to buy a new nine-seat minivan to better accommodate the whole family.
Despite the practical difficulties, the couple says they are happy and grateful. Jasmin admitted that it is sometimes difficult to keep all the children’s names straight and that the family now goes through about 40 diapers a day. Even so, the parents describe their large household as a source of joy and excitement.
The story has drawn attention because of the rare pattern of three sets of twins arriving within such a short time span. For the Rritner family, it marks both a remarkable personal milestone and the start of a new search for a home that can finally fit eight people more comfortably.
