Peaky Blinders Series Casts Conleth Hill, Daniel Monks and Packy Lee
The upcoming Peaky Blinders sequel series has added a new group of cast members, expanding the world of the BBC and Netflix drama as it moves into a new postwar era. Conleth Hill, known for Game of Thrones, will play Clemmy Keeler, the powerful head of the Keeler gangster family, who stands in the way of the Shelby family’s attempt to help rebuild Birmingham. Daniel Monks, who appeared in All Her Fault opposite Sarah Snook, has joined the cast as Detective Inspector Bell.
The newly announced ensemble also includes Samuel Bottomley, Arturo Muselli, Eugene Collins, Lucie Shorthouse, and Cal O’Driscoll. Bottomley is best known for California Schemin’, Muselli for Gomorrah, Collins for The Bay, Shorthouse for We Are Lady Parts, and O’Driscoll for Video Nasty. O’Driscoll will portray Aidan Keeler, Clemmy’s son. Their characters are expected to form part of the fresh criminal and law-enforcement tensions driving the next chapter of the story.
Two familiar faces will return from the original series and the film Immortal Man. Ned Dennehy will reprise his role as Charlie Strong, while Packy Lee will return as Johnny Dogs. Their inclusion connects the sequel to the original Peaky Blinders universe, which centered on the Shelby family’s rise and influence in Birmingham.
The new series is set at least 10 years after World War Two and will follow a city in the middle of a fierce struggle for control and reconstruction. According to the setup, the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a violent contest with near-mythic stakes, continuing the show’s blend of gangland power, family loyalty, and political ambition.
Jamie Bell and Charlie Heaton are playing Duke and Charles Shelby, the children of Tommy Shelby, placing the next generation at the heart of the story. Heaton’s casting had been a subject of speculation for months before his role was confirmed. The characters are described as navigating a Birmingham full of opportunity, danger, and shifting allegiances as they inherit the legacy of the Shelby name.
The latest additions join previously announced cast members Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski, whose roles have not yet been disclosed. Their arrival further broadens the ensemble as the production builds toward a large-scale continuation of the franchise.
Peaky Blinders is being produced by Banijay labels Kudos and Garrison Drama. Steven Knight, the creator and writer of the original series, is also writing the sequel. Direction is being handled by Mike Barker and Anna Zackrisson, with Tim Whitby serving as producer. Production support comes from the West Midlands Combined Authority, and the project marks the first commission under a new BBC partnership with the WMCA and Create Central aimed at increasing production investment in the West Midlands.
