A$AP Rocky Reflects on Rihanna’s Lighthearted Labor

A$AP Rocky has offered a rare look into his family life with Rihanna, describing fatherhood as natural, emotional, and deeply fulfilling as he raises their three children. In a recent interview with VIBE, the rapper said being a present and loving parent comes easily to him, explaining that he strives to stay emotionally available and affectionate with his children. Rocky and Rihanna share two sons, RZA, 4, and Riot, 2, as well as their daughter Rocki, who was born in September 2025 and is now 8 months old.

Rocky said the experience of becoming a father never loses its excitement. He admitted that even after the birth of his first child, he never fully got used to the feeling of welcoming a baby. Each pregnancy and delivery, he said, still felt fresh and unpredictable. He recalled that he and Rihanna kept things light in the delivery room during the births of both Riot and Rocki, laughing and joking while she was in labor. According to him, the mood during each birth remained similar to their first experience with RZA.

The rapper also spoke about the different personalities developing among his children. He described Riot as highly intelligent and said the child reminds him a lot of Rihanna. Rocky said his eldest son, RZA, resembles him more closely, calling him a quiet, introverted child who keeps to himself. As for Rocki, Rocky joked that she already “runs the show,” suggesting that their youngest daughter has quickly become the center of attention in the household.

Beyond affection and personality, Rocky said one of his main goals as a father is to keep his children humble and disciplined despite being born into fame. He acknowledged that they may one day be seen as “nepo babies” and said he wants to ensure they stay grounded by spending time with their cousins, especially the tougher ones who will keep them in check. He emphasized that he wants to teach his sons discipline and help them remain modest even as they grow up with famous parents.

Rocky also reflected on how much he has changed since first rising to prominence in the early 2010s. He said time and experience have shaped his outlook, and that he has made choices that helped him avoid difficult situations. Looking back, he said he was once focused on establishing himself in rap, but now sees his career as part of a continuing cycle of renewal, reinvention, and growth.
