Ali Baddou and Marion L’Hour may be removed from France Inter’s weekend morning show next season over workload and tensions

France Inter’s weekend morning show is facing possible changes ahead of the new season, as the duo of Ali Baddou and Marion L’Hour may not continue together. According to reports cited by L’Informé, tensions have existed between the two presenters since they took over the program in 2023. The show airs on France Inter on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6 a.m. and has been one of the station’s key weekend morning appointments.

The reported friction appears to have been noticeable both behind the scenes and on air. Some listeners have complained that Ali Baddou frequently interrupts his co-host and guests, while the station has argued that complaints about him are common for many presenters on air. However, internal sources quoted by the media say the relationship between the two journalists has been difficult for some time, with different work habits and levels of preparation creating a persistent mismatch.

One source described L’Hour as arriving very early and being fully prepared, while Baddou allegedly comes in shortly before the broadcast and does not always review the show content in advance. The source suggested that this difference has affected the balance of the program and contributed to the strained atmosphere. France Inter has not confirmed any changes to the weekend schedule, saying the fall lineup has not yet been finalized.

Ali Baddou and Marion L’Hour replaced Carine Bécard and Eric Delvaux less than three years ago at the helm of the weekend morning slot. For Baddou, the move to France Inter’s morning show came after he stepped down from C l’hebdo on France 5, a program he had hosted since 2017. That show later changed hands before eventually being replaced by C à vous, now carried on Saturdays and led by Mohamed Bouhafsi.

Marion L’Hour, meanwhile, is a long-time France Inter journalist. She joined the station in 2011 and has spent most of her career there, aside from a break between 2017 and 2020 when she lived in London. Neither presenter has commented publicly on the reported tensions, and France Inter has also declined to confirm any decision regarding the future of the weekend morning duo.

The situation comes as the public broadcaster is already facing uncertainty over its weekday morning lineup, making the coming season a period of broader change at the station. For now, listeners are left waiting to see whether France Inter will keep the current weekend team in place or opt for a new formula at the start of the broadcast season.
