Who Is Dylan in Euphoria Season 3?

Dylan Gere, son of Golden Globe winner Richard Gere, has become a talking point online after appearing in Euphoria season 3 as Dylan Reid. His role has been mostly in the background, but the character is tied to the show’s entertainment-industry storylines. Dylan is an actor within the series and one of the stars of L.A. Nights, the fictional nighttime soap opera that also connects to Lexi and Maddy’s professional lives. Lexi works as a writer’s assistant, while Maddy is a talent agent, and Dylan’s presence has helped push several plot developments forward.

In the penultimate episode, Maddy arranges a date between Dylan and Cassie in an effort to help revive Cassie’s OnlyFans career. The encounter leads to a publicity stunt when Cassie posts an explicit photo to Dylan’s Instagram, tags herself, and hides his phone. The move causes her subscriber numbers to surge. Dylan is portrayed as kind and unsuspecting, genuinely apologizing to Cassie about what happened during her short run on L.A. Nights. He also comes across as oblivious to some of the chaos around him, including an incident in which he accidentally dips Nate’s finger into a glass of ice water and takes a sip without noticing.

The role has sparked online speculation about whether Euphoria creator Sam Levinson intentionally cast Gere as a reference to Richard Gere’s film career, including titles such as Pretty Woman, Unfaithful, and Runaway Bride. The article suggests that the connection may not be especially deep, though it notes the coincidence as a playful one. Another pop-culture parallel is highlighted through the casting of influencer Brandon Fontaine, played by a Wahlberg, who is another man Cassie has been involved with this season for attention and subscribers.

Gere is also known by his full name, Homer James Jigme Gere, though he is sometimes credited more formally in industry materials. Despite appearing in a large number of Getty Images, he does not maintain a public social media presence. His appearance in Euphoria marks his first television role, but he is already lined up for another significant project.

Later this summer, Gere will appear in Ryan Murphy’s television adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ novel The Shards, an FX series that also stars Kaia Gerber, Igby Rigney, Hayes Warner, Graham Campbell, and Wes Bentley. The upcoming project is expected to draw major attention, especially from fans of Murphy’s work and Ellis’ provocative source material. With two high-profile roles now attached to his name, Gere is quickly emerging as one of the newer faces to watch in television.
