Trump medical report reveals weight gain and ongoing leg swelling amid health rumors

The White House has released President Donald Trump’s latest medical report after his third checkup in 13 months, and the findings are drawing renewed scrutiny over his health. Trump’s physician described the 79-year-old president as being in “excellent health,” but the delayed release of the report and lingering questions about his condition have fueled further speculation among critics and observers.

According to the report, Trump now weighs 238 pounds, which is 14 pounds more than at a health assessment a little over a year ago. His physician said the president received preventive counseling, including guidance on diet, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss. The report also noted slight swelling in Trump’s lower legs, although it said the condition had improved from last year. The White House previously said the swelling was linked to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that affects blood flow in the legs.

The examination stated that Trump is taking medication for cholesterol control and cardiac prevention. It also said he is current on preventive screenings and immunizations, including cancer screenings, cardiovascular risk assessments, and metabolic evaluations. The report further addressed the bruising that has been seen on Trump’s hands, saying it was consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and made more noticeable by his use of aspirin. The report did not explain why bruising appears on both hands.

Trump underwent the exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 26, spending about three and a half hours there for medical and dental evaluations. He later said on Truth Social that “everything” had checked out “PERFECTLY.” However, the White House waited three days before releasing the results, prompting questions from reporters, political opponents, and some medical experts. The timing of the release, which came late on May 29 after many had already left for the weekend, intensified speculation about whether the delay was intentional.

The physician’s report said Trump’s cardiac function was normal and cited an “AI-enhanced electrocardiogram” that estimated his cardiac age to be about 14 years younger than his actual age. Overall, the doctor said Trump demonstrated strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function and was fully fit to serve as commander-in-chief and head of state.

Trump has continued to defend both his physical and cognitive health, saying he has “aced” a cognitive test three times. He is set to turn 80 on June 14 and remains the oldest person ever to assume the presidency. The release of the report has again placed attention on how much information about a president’s health is made public and whether the White House is being fully transparent about Trump’s condition.
