Netflix has released the first trailer for Enola Holmes 3, confirming that Millie Bobby Brown’s Enola Holmes is back and heading toward marriage. The two-minute preview, released on Tuesday, June 9, shows Enola in a wedding dress riding in a horse-drawn carriage before arriving at a church where Louis Partridge’s Lord Tewkesbury is waiting to exchange vows. The ceremony is quickly interrupted as Enola drops her bouquet and veil, climbs out of the carriage, and reaches for a rifle while what appears to be a threat follows her.
Brown’s voiceover sets the tone for the sequel, reflecting on the changes in Enola’s life and her growing uncertainty about marriage. The trailer suggests that while Enola and Tewkesbury are engaged and planning a future together, she begins to question whether committing to marriage means sacrificing her independence. In one line, Enola says she has spent years trying to prove herself worthy of the Holmes name, but now worries about what she may be giving up. The story appears to focus on whether she can love Tewkesbury without losing her sense of self.
The trailer later reveals that the apparent chase is not the real crisis. Instead, Dr. Watson, played by Himesh Patel, arrives with alarming news that Sherlock Holmes, played by Henry Cavill, has been kidnapped. That development appears to put wedding plans on hold and sends Enola and Tewkesbury into another investigation, combining romance, mystery, and action in the next installment of the series.
Brown first played Enola Holmes in 2020, when the original film premiered on Netflix. She returned for the sequel in 2022. Netflix confirmed a third film was in development in November 2024, and Brown later said in a November 2025 interview that the new movie would present a very different version of Enola. She also promised more romance in the upcoming story.
Partridge had previously hinted that the film would feature wedding drama, saying in April that the stakes are higher this time and that Enola and Tewkesbury go through a rough patch. He noted that the characters are older, wiser, and still deeply care about each other, adding that no wedding comes without complications.
Enola Holmes 3 is set to premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, July 1, bringing back the mystery franchise with a story that blends a major romantic milestone with a new family crisis.
