Heavy Rain Forecast for Four Telangana Districts on June 10

The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for four districts in Telangana for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as the southwest monsoon has already entered the state and is expected to advance further over the next four to five days. The alert covers Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal, where heavy rain is likely at isolated places, according to the latest IMD bulletin.

In addition to the rainfall warning, the IMD said thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely at isolated places across all 33 districts of Telangana. The weather office has urged residents to remain alert as conditions remain favourable for more widespread monsoon activity in the state.

For Hyderabad and nearby areas, the forecast for the next 24 hours points to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at times, with heavy spells at a few places, especially towards evening or night. These showers may be accompanied by gusty winds. The IMD said the maximum temperature in Hyderabad is likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may settle near 25 degrees Celsius.

The monsoon’s arrival on June 8, 2026, marks an important seasonal shift for Telangana after a delayed onset. Weather conditions are now becoming more favourable for the system to spread into additional parts of the state in the coming days. The IMD’s forecast suggests that rainfall activity may intensify locally as the monsoon strengthens its presence.

The warning comes at a time when many regions of Telangana are beginning to experience typical early monsoon conditions, including cloudy skies, intermittent rain, and thunderstorm activity. The IMD’s advisory is significant for both urban and rural areas, as heavy spells and gusty winds can affect travel, daily routines, and local drainage in low-lying areas.

Residents in the affected districts have been advised to stay updated on weather developments and take precautions during thunderstorms and heavy rain. Lightning and strong winds can pose risks outdoors, while sudden heavy showers may reduce visibility and disrupt movement in some places.

Hyderabad is also expected to see changing weather through the day, with evening or night rainfall likely to bring temporary relief from heat. The cloud cover may keep daytime conditions slightly less intense than usual, though temperatures are still expected to remain warm.

The IMD’s latest bulletin indicates that Telangana is now entering an active monsoon phase, with more districts likely to see rain as the system progresses further across the state over the next several days.
