Sweden vs Tunisia LIVE: FIFA World Cup 2026 Group F radio, score, commentary and updates

Sweden enter their World Cup meeting with Tunisia relying on one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards, Viktor Gyökeres, to break down an opponent known for defensive discipline. Sweden’s attack is led by Gyökeres after Alexander Isak endured an injury-hit season following his move to Liverpool, scoring only four times in 22 appearances. Gyökeres has been in excellent form for Sweden, with 15 goals in his last 14 matches, and he arrives after a decisive role in the play-offs, where he scored four of Sweden’s six goals. That included a hat-trick against Ukraine in the semi-final and an 88th-minute winner against Poland in the final.

Since the start of the year, the Arsenal forward has been among the most prolific strikers in Europe’s top five leagues, with only Harry Kane scoring more goals. His form gives Sweden a major attacking threat as they look to open up a Tunisia side that has been stubborn throughout qualifying. Tunisia won nine and drew one of their 10 qualification matches and did not concede a goal in that run, although the opponents were relatively modest. Their defensive record was tested more severely in a recent friendly against Belgium, where they were beaten 5-0.

Tunisia’s preparation for the World Cup has also been marked by change. Head coach Sabri Lamouchi, appointed in January, is already the fourth permanent manager in Tunisia’s World Cup cycle. He has placed greater emphasis on younger players in his squad selection, and Tunisia have brought one of the tournament’s youngest squads, with an average age of 26 years and 235 days.

The match therefore presents a clear contrast in styles and strengths. Sweden have elite finishing power and a striker in top form, while Tunisia arrive with a compact defensive identity and a squad refreshed by youth. The key question is whether Gyökeres can exploit Tunisia’s back line and provide the breakthrough Sweden need. If he can maintain his scoring rate, Sweden will believe they have enough firepower to overpower a side that has built its reputation on organisation and resilience.
