Savannah Guthrie Opens Up About Mother’s Disappearance in Emotional Post: “Bring Her Home”

Savannah Guthrie shared an emotional message over the weekend as the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, continued more than four months after she disappeared from her home in Tucson. The Today show anchor posted a religious image of Jesus Christ’s ascension on social media and wrote, “Oh my, my soul, it cries out,” followed by the plea, “Bring her home.” She also included a yellow heart emoji, which has become a symbol of hope for the Guthrie family and the Tucson community supporting them.
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1, and authorities said early in the investigation that she did not leave voluntarily and appeared to have been abducted. Since then, law enforcement has continued working the case, but no arrests have been announced and Nancy’s whereabouts remain unknown. Officials have described the investigation as increasingly complicated as time has passed.
The disappearance has deeply affected Savannah, who stepped away from her NBC duties soon after her mother vanished so she could stay with her siblings, Annie and Camron Guthrie, while the family searched for answers. She later returned to Today in April, but has continued using her public platform to keep attention on the case and to share messages of faith, hope, and persistence.
Public support has remained strong in Tucson, where ribbons, flowers, and other yellow tributes have appeared as symbols of solidarity with the Guthrie family. Yellow has come to represent hope during the long and painful search. Savannah has repeatedly acknowledged that support and has continued to post tributes throughout the ordeal, including a Mother’s Day message in which she said the family would never stop searching.
Investigators have reviewed surveillance footage, analyzed DNA, and followed thousands of public tips. The FBI is assisting local authorities, and the family is still offering a $1 million reward for information that could lead to Nancy’s safe return.
As another difficult milestone passes, Savannah’s message underscores the ongoing heartbreak felt by the family. More than 120 days after Nancy was reported missing, the search continues, and her daughter’s plea remains the same: bring her home.
