Nintendo Direct Set for June 9 Announcement

Nintendo has announced that a new Nintendo Direct will take place on June 9. The presentation will begin at 7 AM PT, 10 AM ET, 3 PM in the UK, and 4 PM in Europe. According to the company, the livestream will run for about 50 minutes and will focus on games planned for the second half of 2026 across both Nintendo Switch 2 and the current Nintendo Switch.
This will be Nintendo’s first general Direct of 2026 and its first presentation of this type since September 2025. The company previously held a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase in February, along with several game-specific presentations and a pair of events tied to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The upcoming Direct is expected to give fans a broader look at Nintendo’s lineup for the rest of the year.
A Nintendo Treehouse: Live event will follow immediately after the Direct and is scheduled to run for 95 minutes. Treehouse livestreams often include extended gameplay demonstrations and deeper looks at upcoming titles, so viewers may get additional details beyond the main presentation.
Nintendo’s plans for the latter half of 2026 remain largely unknown, which has fueled speculation about what may appear during the event. One title frequently mentioned by fans is Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, which is expected sometime in the coming months and could receive a release date during the Direct. There have also been rumors about other possible announcements, including a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, though Nintendo has not confirmed any such projects.
The June 9 Direct is likely to be closely watched because it arrives at a time when the company’s release schedule is still taking shape. With the presentation set to cover both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch, it could offer an important update on Nintendo’s software strategy across both platforms.
Fans will be able to watch the livestream as it goes live, and coverage of the event is expected to continue throughout the broadcast and afterward. Additional announcements and reactions are likely to follow once the presentation concludes.
With the first half of 2026 already in motion, the Direct may help clarify what Nintendo has planned for the months ahead and which major games will define the second half of the year for its hardware lineup.
