New Music Friday, May 22: Reba, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, Bleachers, LISA, Anitta, Rema, LE SSERAFIM and More
BTS is set for a special live appearance at the 52nd American Music Awards, marking a return to the AMAs stage after their U.S. television performance debut at the 2017 show, when they became the first Korean group to perform on the program. The group is nominated for three awards this year. The AMAs, hosted by Queen Latifah, will air on May 25 on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
The performer lineup has also expanded with The Pussycat Dolls and Busta Rhymes joining the show. Darius Rucker will be honored with the Veterans Voice Award, presented by USAA’s Honor Through Action, recognizing artists who use their platforms to create meaningful and lasting change for veterans and those who served. The presenter roster includes Alysa Liu, Anthony Ramos, EJAE, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Hannah Berner, Hilary Duff, Jason Derulo, John Legend, Lisa Rinna, Ludacris, Mariah the Scientist, Matt Rife, Megan Stalter, Paul W. Downs, Melanie Martinez, Nikki Glaser, Paula Abdul, REI AMI, Russell Dickerson and others.
BTS is also turning Las Vegas into a citywide celebration with BTS THE CITY LAS VEGAS, a series of immersive events running through May 31. Landmark areas across the Strip, Downtown and Off-Strip hotels are being lit up with the group’s signature red, along with digital marquee takeovers and welcome messages across the city. Sphere’s Exosphere will feature ARIRANG-themed visuals, while the experience also includes food and beverage activations and exclusive after-party events.
Elsewhere in music and entertainment, BET Awards nominations have been announced, with Cardi B leading the field with six nominations. Kendrick Lamar and Mariah The Scientist each earned five. Doechii, Doja Cat, Clipse, Teyana Taylor, Olivia Dean and Latto received four nominations apiece. A$AP Rocky, Bruno Mars, Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, Jill Scott, Kehlani, Metro Boomin, SZA, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, T.I. and YK Niece each picked up three. BET’s “Culture’s Biggest Night,” hosted by Druski, is scheduled to air June 28.
The latest New Music Friday roundup also features a long list of new releases spanning pop, hip-hop, K-pop, country and dance. Reba McEntire returns with “Hurt Like That,” Olivia Rodrigo drops “the cure,” and Dua Lipa shares “Dua Lipa (Live From Mexico).” New tracks and projects also arrive from LISA, Anitta and Rema on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album; Bleachers with “everyone for ten minutes”; Duran Duran with a remix of “Free To Love”; Lola Young; LE SSERAFIM; ITZY; Diplo; Tyler Hubbard; Lauv; Anthony Ramos; paris jackson; French Montana and Max B; and many more artists adding fresh songs to the week’s streaming lineup.
