Lenny Henry to Bring New Live Tour to Grand Opera House York

Lenny Henry will bring his new live tour, Still At Large, to York’s Grand Opera House on June 23, giving audiences an evening of stand-up, storytelling and conversation. The show is part of a wider UK tour and marks Sir Lenny’s first major tour since his critically acclaimed Cradle to Rave in 2010.
In a statement, Henry said he is excited to return to theatres across the UK with new material. He joked that he is “not 16 anymore” and has changed significantly since his last tour, saying he has “shed 15 skins” over the years. He described the new show as a chance to share stories on stage and then open the floor to questions from the audience, promising an informal and interactive evening.
Henry’s career spans more than five decades and has made him one of Britain’s best-known performers. He has worked across comedy, drama and children’s writing, with credits including The Lenny Henry Show, Chef!, Othello, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Every Brilliant Thing. His work has also extended beyond the stage and screen, with co-creation of Comic Relief and the publication of several children’s books.
Still At Large is expected to highlight both Henry’s trademark humour and his storytelling style, combining personal reflections with audience engagement. The York date is one stop on a tour that brings him back to live performance after a long break from full touring.
Tickets for the Grand Opera House performance are on sale now through fane.co.uk/Lenny-Henry.
