American Pickers Is Not Ending on History, Despite Rumors

Mike Wolfe has eased fan concerns that American Pickers may be ending soon by revealing that the History Channel series will begin filming a new season later this summer. In an Instagram post, Wolfe shared a video celebrating international versions of the Pickers format, including editions from Ireland, Italy, Australia, and Canada, and used the caption to confirm the show’s continued future. He noted that the upcoming season will mark 17 years since he and Frank Fritz started filming in 2009, underscoring how long the series has lasted and how far the franchise has expanded.

The update comes after months of speculation about whether the long-running series might quietly wrap up following major changes in recent years. Those rumors grew stronger after the death of former co-host Frank Fritz, who had been central to the show’s original success, and after comments from cast members suggested uncertainty about what would come next. Earlier in the year, Wolfe also shared a nostalgic throwback post reflecting on the early days of American Pickers with Fritz, which many fans took as a sign that the show could be nearing its final chapter. Danielle Colby added to the confusion when she appeared to hint that “Pickers is done,” leaving the future of the program unclear.

Wolfe’s latest post suggests the opposite. By emphasizing the international spinoffs, he highlighted how the original concept has grown into a global format built around discovering objects that preserve local history. The franchise has proven durable because it is not only about buying and selling old items, but also about the stories, memories, and cultural value attached to them. That broader appeal has helped the show remain relevant for nearly two decades.

The post also arrives during a period of change in Wolfe’s personal and professional life. In 2025, he and his girlfriend, Leticia Cline, were involved in a crash while riding in one of his classic cars. Wolfe suffered only minor injuries, while Cline was hospitalized with a broken jaw and other serious injuries that required a long recovery. Cline has since shared parts of that recovery process publicly, describing it as a difficult period for both of them.

At the same time, Wolfe has continued expanding his work beyond the flagship series. He closed his Antique Archaeology location in Nashville and has also been associated with new History programming in 2026, including History’s Greatest Picks with Mike Wolfe. Even with all the uncertainty around American Pickers, Wolfe has remained closely tied to the network and to the broader world of collecting and restoration television.

For now, the message from Wolfe appears clear: American Pickers is not done yet. After 17 years, the series is still going strong, with more barns, garages, and hidden treasures left to uncover.
