Kate Mansi Exits General Hospital After Three Years

Actor Kate Mansi is leaving “General Hospital” after portraying Kristina Corinthos Davis for three years, with her final episodes expected to air in June. The departure was first reported by Soap Opera Network and later confirmed by soap journalist Stephanie Sloane, with comments from Mansi and executive producer and showrunner Frank Valentini.

Mansi joined the ABC daytime drama in 2023 after a nine-year run on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” where she previously won a Daytime Emmy in 2017 for her performance as Abigail Deveraux. On “General Hospital,” she inherited the role of Kristina Corinthos Davis, a character that had previously been played by Lexie Answorth. During her time on the series, Mansi also expanded her involvement behind the camera, directing two episodes of the long-running soap.

According to Mansi, the decision to exit the show came at the end of her current contract. She described the experience as “a meaningful and unforgettable ride,” adding that she had enjoyed playing “a fiery Corinthos-Davis girl” within what she called a “phenomenal family.” Her work on “General Hospital” also earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination last year, further recognizing her contribution to daytime television.

Valentini responded with support for Mansi’s decision, saying the production team loved working with her and appreciated what she brought to the series over the past three years. He also indicated that the show would be open to welcoming her back in the future, saying the door remains open.

Before “General Hospital,” Mansi built a strong resume in television and film. Her recent credits include the Amazon/Freevee drama “Casa Grande,” which aired in 2023, followed by a “Casa Grande” film released on Prime Video earlier this month. She also starred in the 2019 NBC miniseries “Days of Our Lives: Chad and Abby in Paris” and appeared in the 2020 independent feature “Legend of the Muse.”

Mansi’s exit marks another change in the cast of the daytime drama, but her departure appears to be on amicable terms, with both the actress and the show expressing mutual respect. Her three-year run on “General Hospital” included a prominent role in the Corinthos-Davis family storyline, award recognition, and directing experience, making her tenure a notable chapter in her daytime career.
