Josh Duggar Transferred to New Facility After Disgrace Amid Ongoing Prison Sentence

Josh Duggar has been transferred from a low-security federal prison in Seagoville, Texas, to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth for undisclosed medical treatment, according to records reviewed by Wonderwall.com. The move suggests his condition required care beyond what his previous facility could provide, though no details about his health have been made public. His attorney and the medical facility have not commented.

Duggar, 38, is serving a 12-year-and-seven-month sentence after being convicted in 2021 on federal charges involving the receipt and possession of child sexual abuse material. He was later sentenced to 20 years of supervised release. During the investigation, a federal agent described the content found on his devices as among the worst cases he had ever examined.

Before his conviction, Duggar was released under tight bail restrictions because children lived in his home. He was required to avoid unsupervised contact with his children, wear an ankle monitor and stay off the internet. He pleaded not guilty at trial but was found guilty by a jury.

The former TLC personality has long faced controversy. In 2015, a police report surfaced alleging he admitted to inappropriate conduct years earlier involving his sisters when he was a teenager. Those allegations were not part of the federal case, but they renewed public scrutiny of the Duggar family and of how the matter had been handled privately years before.

According to reports from that time, his parents said they became aware of his behavior, disciplined him at home and later sent him away for counseling. The family’s handling of the accusations drew criticism and contributed to the long-running fallout surrounding the former reality TV star.

Duggar’s new prison facility also houses other inmates with serious medical or high-profile cases, including Joe Exotic, the Tiger King figure who was transferred there for health-related reasons. FMC Fort Worth is a federal medical center designed to handle both physical and mental health needs for inmates whose conditions require more specialized treatment.

Duggar, who rose to fame on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting, is now spending his sentence under a new medical arrangement as questions remain about the seriousness of his condition. For now, officials have not disclosed whether the transfer is temporary or how long he will remain at the Fort Worth facility.
