Jamie Kennedy Criticizes Mark Hamill’s ‘Crazy’ Rhetoric Against Donald Trump

Actor Jamie Kennedy criticized Mark Hamill after the “Star Wars” actor posted an AI-generated image of Donald Trump in a grave with the caption “If Only,” along with a comment saying he hoped Trump lived long enough to be humiliated and disgraced. Kennedy made the remarks on the May 26 episode of his podcast “Hate to Break it to Ya,” calling Hamill’s post “evil” and “insane.” He said it was irresponsible for someone with a large following to share such content and argued that public figures should express disagreement in a more tasteful way.
Hamill, 74, has long been an outspoken critic of Trump and the Trump administration. In 2025, he said he was disappointed that Trump had been reelected and described that outcome as something he felt ashamed of, saying he had believed more Americans were decent and honest. His latest post drew a sharp response from the White House’s Rapid Response 47 account, which called Hamill “one sick individual” and linked the post to what it described as dangerous political rhetoric following assassination attempts against Trump.
The White House has repeatedly focused on the issue of “violent rhetoric” after the attempts on Trump’s life. At the same time, Trump himself has posted inflammatory content online and has targeted critics, including Jimmy Kimmel, over jokes conservatives said were insensitive or violent. Trump has also shared AI-generated memes and made severe statements about Democratic senators, including calling their actions “sedition” and saying the crime should be “punishable by DEATH.”
The dispute adds to the broader debate over political speech, online imagery and public responsibility in an increasingly polarized environment. Kennedy’s comments placed him firmly against Hamill’s post, while Hamill’s critics in the White House argued that such messages contribute to a hostile political climate. The exchange reflects how celebrity commentary on Trump continues to trigger intense reactions from both supporters and opponents, with social media amplifying the conflict.
