How to Watch Rockies’ Series Opener vs. Brewers: TV Channel, Live Stream, Radio and Injury Updates

The Colorado Rockies return to Coors Field after taking two of three games from the Los Angeles Angels in Southern California earlier this week, beginning a weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers, who lead the National League Central. The matchup opens a six-game homestand for Colorado, which will also host the Chicago Cubs next week. Milwaukee has benefitted from Chicago’s recent collapse, as the Cubs have fallen to fourth place after a 10-game losing streak.

Friday’s opener is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. EST at Coors Field in Denver. Fans can watch on Rockies.TV, with radio coverage on KOA 850 AM and 94.1 FM. Colorado will send right-hander Ryan Feltner to the mound, while Milwaukee counters with right-hander Brandon Sproat.

Feltner is making his second start since returning from the injured list. In his previous outing on May 30 against the San Francisco Giants, he worked six innings, allowed four hits and struck out two batters while throwing 63 pitches. It will be his seventh start of the season, and the Rockies believe he has pitched better than his 4.85 ERA suggests. Feltner has shown encouraging signs despite missing time with injury, and Colorado will hope he can continue building momentum in front of a home crowd.

Sproat, meanwhile, enters the game under pressure after a difficult start against the Houston Astros on May 30, when he gave up six runs on five hits in 4.1 innings during a 9-2 loss. Brewers manager Pat Murphy publicly challenged the young right-hander after that performance, making it clear that Milwaukee expects sharper results as it competes for a division title. The trip to Coors Field presents a difficult test for any pitcher, especially one trying to secure a rotation spot.

For Colorado, the series offers a chance to capitalize on Sproat’s recent struggles and continue playing better baseball at home. For Milwaukee, it is another opportunity to hold off the Cubs and strengthen its division lead. The matchup also serves as an important measuring stick for both starting pitchers: Feltner is looking to confirm his progress after injury, while Sproat is trying to respond after a disappointing outing.

The Rockies enter the series with several notable injuries. Outfielder Brenton Doyle is sidelined with a left oblique contusion, while outfielders Mickey Moniak and Jordan Beck are also on the injured list. The pitching staff is missing Chase Dollander, Victor Vodnik, Jimmy Herget, Welinton Herrera, Pierson Ohl, RJ Petit, McCade Brown, and Jose Quintana, while DH Kris Bryant remains out with lumbar degenerative disk disease.

Colorado’s six-game homestand gives the team a chance to gain ground and build some consistency after a road trip split. Milwaukee arrives as the division leader, but the Brewers will need a strong performance in a hitter-friendly ballpark against a Rockies club that is hoping to make the most of its opportunity.
