Every Year After and 8 More Must-Watch TV Shows This Week

This week’s TV lineup, spanning June 8-14, includes new streaming series, reality competition, documentaries and major sports events across cable and broadcast. Details and schedules may change.

On Hulu, the British comedy “Alice and Steve” follows Alice, played by Nicola Walker, after she learns her ex-boyfriend and best friend Steve, played by Jemaine Clement, is dating her 26-year-old daughter, Izzy. The series explores family tension, friendship and relationships through a chaotic but emotional story.

Prime Video is debuting “Every Year After,” adapted from Carley Fortune’s novel “Every Summer After.” The series centers on Percy Fraser and Sam Florek, who become neighbors in the Canadian lake town of Barry’s Bay. The story moves between their younger years and the present, when they reconnect after a long estrangement. The cast includes Sadie Soverall, Matt Cornett, Michael Bradway, Abigail Cowen and Aurora Perrineau. All eight episodes will be released at once.

Starz will air “The Listeners,” based on Jordan Tannahill’s novel. Rebecca Hall stars as Claire, an English teacher who begins hearing a mysterious low hum that only she and a student, Kyle, can detect. As the sound causes migraines, insomnia and emotional strain, the two try to determine whether it is a sign of something extraordinary or a threat to their sanity.

For travel and food fans, Antoni Porowski fronts “Best of the World With Antoni Porowski,” a four-part series on Disney+ and Hulu. The former “Queer Eye” food expert visits London, Paris, New York and Mexico City to explore cultural landmarks and sample local cuisine. All episodes will be available together.

Bravo’s “Below Deck Mediterranean” returns with Captain Sandy Yawn and crew members Aesha Scott, Nathan Gallagher and Joe Bradley aboard a yacht in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The season also follows Gallagher as he adjusts to life as a first-time parent. Episodes will stream on Peacock the next day.

Netflix’s “Outlast” returns for a third season, this time set in the humid Panamanian jungle rather than Alaska. Sixteen contestants compete to endure the harsh environment the longest for a $1 million prize. The season is split into two parts, with the first six episodes arriving this week and the rest on June 17.

NBC’s new documentary series “Surviving Earth” looks back 450 million years to major geological eras and extinction events. Using newly created CGI, the series examines extinct animals and ancient environmental shifts across eight episodes, including the collapse of Carboniferous forests and the Late Ordovician extinction.

Beyond entertainment, sports fans can follow the N.B.A. Finals, where the New York Knicks face the San Antonio Spurs. Game 3 is Monday, Game 4 Wednesday and Game 5, if needed, Saturday, all on ABC at 8:30 p.m. The Stanley Cup Finals also continue, with the Vegas Golden Knights meeting the Carolina Hurricanes. Game 4 is Tuesday, with possible Games 5 and 6 later in the week, all on ABC at 8 p.m.
