Canceled TV Shows in 2026: Which Series Are Ending This Year?

2026 is proving to be a major year for TV endings, with broadcast networks, cable channels, and streaming services all trimming their lineups. Several long-running hits and newer originals have either been officially canceled or confirmed to end with their upcoming seasons, reflecting a wider reset across the entertainment industry.

Netflix is among the platforms with the most high-profile farewells. Emily in Paris will end after its upcoming sixth season, with production already underway on the final chapter. The Witcher is also headed toward a conclusion, with Netflix renewing it for a fifth and final season due in 2026. Outer Banks will wrap with Season 5, while Queer Eye ended with Season 10, which premiered on January 21, 2026. Netflix also ended Tell Me Lies after three seasons, The Upshaws with its latest season, and The Abandons after just one season. Avatar: The Last Airbender will conclude with Season 3, and Palm Royale has been canceled after Season 2.

Other streamers are making similar moves. Prime Video’s The Boys finished its fifth and final season on May 20, 2026, while Gen V has been canceled after two seasons, though its characters are expected to continue in other franchise projects. Good Omens concluded with a feature-length finale on May 13, 2026. Apple TV’s Silo is set to end after Season 4 in 2027, while CBC? no, HBO Max’s Hacks and HBO’s Industry are both expected to conclude with future seasons.

Cable and premium TV are also seeing major exits. Showtime and Paramount+ said Yellowjackets will end with Season 4, while The Chi is currently airing its eighth and final season and is set to finish on July 24, 2026. Mayor of Kingstown will end after Season 5, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is expected to conclude with Season 4. Starz’s Outlander wrapped after Season 8, and HBO’s The Comeback finished its third season run in May 2026.

Broadcast television has lost several familiar names as well. CBS ended The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on May 21, 2026, closing the long-running Late Show franchise after 33 years. The Neighborhood also wrapped after seven seasons, while Watson and DMV were both canceled. NBC has canceled Brilliant Minds after one season and Stumble ahead of the 2026–2027 season. ABC? no, NBCUniversal also ended Access Hollywood’s first-run syndication run after nearly three decades.

Reality and lifestyle programming has not been spared. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is ending with its ninth season, and The Kelly Clarkson Show will conclude after its current seventh season. PBS News Weekend ended in early 2026, and The Way Home is finishing with Season 4 on Hallmark.

Together, the cancellations and finales highlight a crowded TV marketplace where even established titles are increasingly vulnerable, and where creators and networks are choosing to end some stories on their own terms.
