Billy Crawford and Nâdiya in concert as carnival parade returns to Lomme this weekend

Lomme will host a festive weekend combining music, a children’s ball, a parade and a light show. The celebrations begin on Saturday evening with a free concert aimed at fans of 2000s pop. The lineup features Billy Crawford, known for his 2002 hit “Trackin’” and for winning the French edition of “Danse avec les stars” in 2022, alongside singer Nâdiya, who became widely known after appearing on “Graines de star” in 1996 and later scored successes with songs such as “Roc” and “Et c’est parti.” Logan Waeles, discovered on “N’oubliez pas les paroles,” will open the evening.
After the concert, the public will be able to attend “La symphonie des lumières,” a show by the Allumee company featuring 500 drones. Two performances are scheduled for 10:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Organizers recommend watching from Rue de l’Hôtel-de-Ville or Parc Notebart for the best view. Food service will be available from 7:30 p.m. on the esplanade.
Sunday’s program focuses on carnival activities for all ages, with a special highlight for children. A children’s ball will take place at 2:30 p.m. on the forecourt, followed by a children’s parade to Parc Rossignol. From 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., musical and roaming entertainment will also be offered along Avenue de la République by the La Bringue brass band and the Sur le vif company.
The main parade, a central moment of the carnival, will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday from Parc Rossignol and make its way through the streets of Lomme to the Delaporte forecourt. The grand finale is planned for 5:30 p.m., bringing together various companies and local associations. The day will end with a festive musical aperitif at 7 p.m. featuring Capanga.
The weekend is designed as a major local celebration mixing nostalgia, family entertainment and street performance. City officials expect strong attendance and have announced traffic restrictions around the event area. On Saturday, circulation on the Jules-Guesde bridge will be interrupted from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. because of the evening festivities.
The event reflects Lomme’s carnival spirit, with a program centered on live music, community participation and a visual drone spectacle that will light up the sky above the town hall district.
