Arsenal Exploring Deal for Club Brugge Winger Christos Tzolis

Arsenal are exploring a move for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis as they continue to strengthen their attacking options this summer. Sources believe the 24-year-old could be available for about €40 million, or £34.5 million, and a deal would not rule out Arsenal also pursuing Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers or another attacking target.
Tzolis has become one of the most productive wide forwards in Europe since joining Club Brugge, scoring 43 goals across two seasons. His record also includes 23 goals for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga during the 2023-24 campaign, underlining his steady rise after earlier spells in Greece, England and the Netherlands. The Greece international began his career at PAOK, moved to Norwich City in 2021 and made 14 Premier League appearances in his debut season before loans and later a permanent transfer eventually took him to Germany and then Belgium.
Club Brugge tied Tzolis to a new contract in July 2025, with his deal running until June 2029. That extension came shortly before Crystal Palace made an attempt to sign him. Despite that long-term agreement, interest in the winger has continued to grow after another impressive campaign.
Tzolis has made clear that any move away from Club Brugge would need to be to a leading club in one of Europe’s top leagues. Speaking last month, he said only a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain or Italy would convince him, while also joking that Paris Saint-Germain would be another acceptable destination. His comments have added to speculation that a move to a major European side could be on the horizon.
Arsenal’s interest comes as the club reassesses its options on the left side of attack. The Athletic reported earlier this week that the Gunners enquired about Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz, only to be told that the 21-year-old Turkey international is not for sale. That has pushed Arsenal to keep assessing alternatives as they look to add more threat and depth out wide.
The left wing is viewed as a position Arsenal want to refresh, especially with uncertainty over the long-term futures of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, whose contracts are both due to expire in 2027. While neither player is expected to leave immediately, Arsenal want more competition and more consistent end product from the role. Tzolis fits that profile after delivering strong numbers in Belgium, including 17 goals and 23 assists last season, and he also brings Champions League experience from facing Arsenal for Club Brugge in December 2025.
Arsenal ended a 22-year wait for a Premier League title last month, but their season ended in disappointment after losing the Champions League final to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties. With that in mind, the club are looking to build on their success by improving the attack around Mikel Arteta. Tzolis, described as a player whose efficiency and output could suit Arsenal’s needs, is now one of the names under consideration as the club plan their next move.
