Amaury Lorenzo returns to prime-time in the next 7 p.m. soap opera and says he has achieved financial stability: “I bought my parents’ house”

During the production of Três Graças, Amaury made his debut in São Paulo with a staging of the musical Ópera do Malandro. The show is scheduled to arrive in Rio de Janeiro in August. In the same period, the actor also filmed two feature films: Iluminação, shot in Manaus, and Maravilha!, a production from Estúdios Globo.

Reflecting on his career, Amaury said he believes his path to success and recognition took longer because he is a Black artist. He sees this as a reality that shaped his journey in the entertainment industry and influenced the time it took for his work to gain broader acknowledgment.

His recent professional activities highlight a busy and diverse phase, combining theater and cinema across different Brazilian cities. The São Paulo premiere of Ópera do Malandro marks an important step in his stage work, while the upcoming Rio de Janeiro season is expected to broaden the audience for the musical.

At the same time, his participation in Iluminação and Maravilha! shows continued expansion in film, with projects ranging from a production filmed in the Amazon region to a studio-backed feature connected to one of Brazil’s major television companies.

Amaury’s remarks also point to the broader challenges faced by Black performers in the arts, especially in industries where visibility, opportunity, and recognition have often been unevenly distributed. His statement underscores how long-term persistence and artistic versatility remain central to his career.

With theater and film projects unfolding at once, Amaury is entering a moment of greater visibility. The combination of a celebrated musical, a regional film shoot in Manaus, and a Globo Studios production reflects a dynamic period in which he is working across multiple formats and locations.

The move from São Paulo to Rio with Ópera do Malandro further extends the reach of the production, while the two films add to his screen credits and professional profile. Together, these projects position Amaury as an artist active in both stage and film, navigating a career built over time and marked by resilience, range, and growing recognition.
