Aldi Unveils Blind-Box Grocery Bundles: How to Get One
Aldi is bringing the blind box craze to the grocery aisle with a limited-time giveaway called the Aldi Blind Box. The company said shoppers will be able to claim one for free, with daily drops scheduled from June 22 through June 25. Each day at noon ET, customers can visit AldiBlindBox.com to request that day’s themed box while supplies last. The giveaway will be first come, first served, and Aldi said more than 100 boxes will be available in each drop.
The boxes are filled with a mix of fan-favorite products and items selected from across the store. Aldi said the promotion is designed to tap into the popularity of surprise unboxing trends while giving shoppers a chance to discover new products. The four box themes are Snack Blind Box, featuring premium cheeses, dips, crunchy snacks and sweets; Fiber Blind Box, featuring produce favorites and better-for-you picks; Protein Blind Box, featuring satisfying staples and unexpected finds; and Mystery Blind Box, which includes a surprise assortment of Aldi favorites and essentials.
Aldi said customers can check the company’s Instagram page to see which theme will be released next. The grocer framed the promotion as part of its broader focus on value and discovery, pointing to both viral Aldi Finds and long-running customer favorites as part of its appeal. Company communications director Bridget Kozlowski said shoppers already enjoy the excitement of browsing Aldi’s aisles and that the blind box promotion extends that experience in a new way.
In addition to the giveaway, Aldi is also testing changes in some U.S. stores. Shoppers may notice updated signage, pricing language and visual elements as the chain experiments with a redesigned store format. The changes are part of a wider effort by Aldi South to create a more consistent global look across its stores.
Aldi is working with Australian design and branding firm Landini Associates on a new format that can be adapted for different countries, including the United States. While Aldi’s current stores are known for compact layouts and product packaging that doubles as display material, the redesigned model is expected to be more flexible. That could allow the company to try different store sizes and layouts, including smaller corner-store-style locations that may fit better in urban neighborhoods or other limited-space markets.
The blind box giveaway and store redesign both reflect Aldi’s efforts to blend value, convenience and novelty as it competes for shoppers’ attention in a changing grocery market.
