LDS Daily Watchlist: I Lived as a Mormon for 30 Days, and Now I’m Joining the Church

LDS Daily Watchlist spotlights a curated collection of videos from Latter-day Saint creators and organizations, along with other content that highlights the faith. This week’s lineup ranges from personal conversion stories and historical resources to music, scripture-based reflections, and critical commentary on public discussions about the Church. The featured selections are presented as uplifting, informative, and faith-centered viewing meant to inspire members and others interested in Latter-day Saint life and culture.

One of the most notable videos follows Chris from the YouTube channel “Chris the Casual,” who spent 30 days living like a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. What began as an experiment appears to have become something much more significant, as he now says he is joining the Church. The story highlights how a temporary challenge can lead to a life-changing spiritual shift and offers viewers a chance to follow his journey.

Another feature draws attention to a new digital history resource called “Native Saints: The Washakie Ward.” Created in collaboration with the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation, the project shares stories from one of the earliest Indigenous congregations in Church history. The resource seeks to preserve and honor the experiences of Northwestern Shoshone Latter-day Saints and broaden understanding of Indigenous members’ place in the Church’s past.

Music also plays a central role in this week’s watchlist. BYU Vocal Point and Rise Up Children’s Choir have released a performance of “I Will Walk With Jesus,” a song that has become increasingly loved among Latter-day Saints. Filmed on the shore of Utah Lake, the video reflects the Savior’s ministry and the message of Luke 2:52, inviting viewers to grow in wisdom, service, and discipleship by following Jesus Christ’s example. The collaboration emphasizes faith, unity, and Christian service.

The list also includes a response video titled “Everything Johnny Harris gets WRONG about Mormons.” It addresses a three-part compilation from Johnny Harris, a popular YouTuber and former Church member, that discusses the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This response gathers previous rebuttals into one place and adds updated commentary, aiming to correct omissions and alleged inaccuracies in the original material.

A final selection, “Ruth,” offers a thoughtful retelling of the biblical story of Naomi and Ruth. The video emphasizes Ruth’s covenant loyalty, sacrifice, and faith as she leaves her homeland to remain with Naomi and worship the God of Israel. It highlights how Ruth’s devotion led her to become the great-grandmother of King David and an ancestor of Jesus Christ, presenting her story as a powerful example of steadfast loyalty in difficult times.

Together, these videos reflect the variety of faith-based content being created within the Latter-day Saint community, from testimony and history to music and scripture-centered teaching.
