SASSA Payment Dates for June 2026: Full Grant Schedule

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the payment dates for June 2026 social grants, with disbursements set to take place over three days at the start of the month. Older Persons grants will be paid on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, followed by Disability grants on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. All remaining grants, including the Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant and War Veterans Grant, will be paid from Thursday, 4 June 2026.
Beneficiaries do not need to collect their money on the exact payment day, as funds remain available in the Sassa card or Postbank account until they are withdrawn. This allows recipients to access their grants at a later time if needed, reducing pressure on payment days and helping avoid unnecessary congestion at collection points and cash withdrawal locations.
The June schedule covers South Africa’s main social assistance categories and follows the usual sequence used by Sassa for monthly payouts. The payment order prioritises Older Persons beneficiaries first, then Disability grant recipients, before moving on to other grant types. This structure is designed to ensure an orderly rollout of funds and to support millions of South Africans who rely on social grants for essential monthly expenses.
Grant amounts for June 2026 remain at the revised levels introduced after the April 2026 increase. Older Persons, Disability and Care Dependency grants are paid at R2 400 per month. The War Veterans Grant is R2 420, while the Foster Child Grant is R1 290. The Child Support Grant and Grant-in-Aid are both set at R580 per month.
These payments are a key source of support for households across the country, helping cover food, transport, schooling and basic living costs. The confirmed dates give beneficiaries advance notice so they can plan withdrawals and monthly budgeting accordingly.
Sassa has urged beneficiaries to remain aware of the official schedule and to avoid unnecessary travel or long queues on payment days if they do not need immediate access to their money. The agency’s payment system allows grant funds to stay in the account after they are deposited, giving recipients flexibility in when they withdraw the money.
The Department of Social Development is listed as the source for the payment information and grant amount details.
